Description

To lose one’s place without gaining another, to be alienated from one without being able to assimilate in another – this has always been the fate of the refugee.

All short stories in this volume are fictional inspired by the haunting experiences and hardships of refugee people who were willing to speak out.

Every story is unique, but there is a common thread running through them all. The experience the refugees share in common: they all left their homeland to move to an environment promising a new beginning and a new life. Howerver, the ghosts are left behind, never really leave – the memories. The struggles to feel accepted and be part of a new life, the cultural differences and those of language.

There are so many layers, so many unexpected situations, and circumstances. There is a lot to take in from each individual story.
