Description
An interdisciplinary approach to Memory Studies. Beginning with the premise that culture and memory are coterminous, the collection of essays by scholars from around the world articulates perspectives on the complexities of this inter-relationship. They highlight how memory is situated in time and place, in historical and social experience, in unconscious fantasies and in the personal, and how it is articulated in modes of artistic and cultural expression, in legal and political systems. A section of the book brings together reflections of memory in prose and poetry by Cypriot creative writers.
