Description
The prospective accession of Cyprus to the European Union is one of the most complicated cases ever tackled by the Union in the course of its enlargement. A major reason is that the accession process has de facto been linked with the Cyprus problem and its multiple dimensions, such as the issue of security in the Eastern Mediterranean, and to some extent with Turkey’s relations with the EU.
