Description
Within Nicosia’s old Venetian walls there are a multitude of treasures, and strolling through the old city centre I stumbled upon one of these treasures, as yet unrecognised. The narrow streets are punctuated by beautiful and intricately worked old doors, some lovingly restored and others left abandoned for ages.
Sentinal-like, they stand guard over the secrets and mysteries of the homes and courtyards within. Carved into their frames is the year of their construction, causing one to wonder what the city and its inhabitants were like in those years.
