Description
In the 20th century, the Orthodox world witnessed holy and saintly figures in the persons of ascetics and monks, but also of priests and other lay labourers of the Lord’s vineyard. These elect few of Christ’s flock gave testimony to God and service of grace to man. They were servants of the Gospel, offering a perfect example for their contemporaries and descendants. The self-transcendent and happy confidence they had in God’s heaven was the power that kept them upright in the long, difficult road of conscience.
