The position of the Cypriot woman has undoubtedly advanced significantly over the past twenty years. Gradually and quietly in the early years as part of the wider social development, it has recently begun to appear more significant and decisive. This new impetus has been due to a large extent to the international campaign for women’s liberation, which has created a climate of deliberation around the subject and encouraged many Cypriot women to confront it more consciously.
