Description

Following the ethnic conflicts during the aftermath of the British colonial rule and, then, after the war in 1974, Cyprus has become divided into two different ethnic and geographic areas: the Greek South representing the Government of Cyprus and the de facto independent, but internationally unrecognized Turkish North. For the last four decades, studies have been restricted to the southern part of island, avoiding examination of the Turkish North for political reasons.
