Description

(from the book)

«During one of my recent visits to London I bought a small book entitled ‘London Life

Through Postcards’. This, immediately, gave me the idea of presenting to you

‘Cyprus Through Postcards’.

As a keen collector of Cyprus postcards for the last ten years my efforts to complete

my collection have never ceased. I have come across some very interesting postcards

of which only a small number is presented here. It is a mixture of well known Cyprus

places together with a few showing customs of days gone by.

The postcards printed here were originally issued by J.P. Foscolo, Th.N. Toufexis,

Ch. Glazner, M. Caremfilaki and G.M.I. Efthyvoulos; the last three believed to be

the first who issued postcards of general Cyprus interest. However the issues of

Toufexis and Foscolo, with their inexhaustible themes, are quite as important.
