In Bulgaria we have the saying ”When there is no fish, the crab is a fish too”, which I can paraphrase into ”When there are no professors, the Ambassador is a professor”.
Therefore I am in a hurry to warn you that I had to do some homework. I have read the chronicle of Leontios Mahairas in French, the History of Cyprus by Katya Hadjidemetriou, Historic Cyprus by Rupert Gunnis and articles in journals, publishing historical material. My speech follows chronologically the specific historical presence of Bulgaria in Cyprus.
