Description
German historical research which has busied itself extensively with the Ancient and Byzantine periods of Greek history, only very recently took notice of the history of Modern Greece and particularly of contemporary events. Before the coup of 21st April 1967 less than a dozen studies by German authors had appeared on the latter topic. Even if we add the dissertations and other studies written by Greeks in German their number scarcely exceeds the dozen.
