Description
Despite their limited time the authors have been engaged for the past six years in the systematic gathering of the vascular plants of Cyprus. Practically every weekend has been spent on field trips, visiting most of the Island with particular attention being giver to the mountain ranges and inter-montane valleys. The immediate aim of this undertaking was to become familiar ith the plant life of the Island, to collect the endemics reported by various authors and to confirm or rectify doubtful records. This was the first step towards the more ambitious goal of delimiting and diagnosing the plant communities as well as of evaluating the impact made by human activities on the plant cover of the Island.
