Lucas Hadjilucas – Koursoumbas (1901-1987) was a pioneer of the new architecture of Cyprus in the 20th century. He was a member of a renowned family of master-builderswho continued the centuries old tradition of the building art, which was transmitted from generation to generation. The young Lucas grew up and was nurtured in this environment as an apprentice to his master-builder relatives….. So, he went on to study Architecture at the Boston Architectural (BAC) in 1920-26 and then practiced as an architect in various parts of New Jersey in the USA.
